The Ran Lab holds an appreciation dinner to recognize the contributions of those who helped with a recent R01 grant, including Dr. Anton Maximov, Aubrie Perea, Showmick Paul, and former lab members Yandan Wang, Catherine Gallori, and Shiqi Wang. The lab also recognized Alex Hiroto for his contributions to another grant (yet to be announced). We also welcome two new undergraduate researchers, Melody Liu and Ariel Hsieh. The evening concluded with a fun game night that brought together current members and former trainees attending virtually.

Our lab bids farewell to Catherine as she begins her MD-PhD study at UCSF this fall. We’re glad she will stay relatively close by and continue her role in the lab as an external graduate student.

Another big day for the Ran Lab: our first postdoctoral associate, Zahraa Chorghay, formally started in the lab. New research intern, Tianxiao Huang, will join us this summer. Catherine Gallori just accepted her MD-PhD offer from UCSF. Congratulations to all!

The lab welcomes the first rotation student, Shiqi Wang, to the lab. Earlier today, our research assistant, Catherine Gallori, got another MD/PhD offer (her fifth offer!!), and Zahraa Chorghay, decided to join the lab as a postdoc associate. A day of celebration!
